SECOND TASK- BIOLOGY IN MY PERSPECTIVE

Biology is a science that studies living beings from their structure, habitat, communities and everything that surrounds them. The beginning of biology dates back to Aristotles who made the first classification of living beings, many years passed and many scientists who continued studying plants and animals until Anthony van Leeuwenhoek built the first microscope which gave way to the study of microorganisms then Gregor Mendel began to study genetics and how it was that the characteristics were inherited from parents to offspring and this is how the history of biology has passed through the hands of many scientists leaving much information which today is collected, is studied and gives way to great discoveries such as cloning, the human genome, the taxonomy of species and many other experiments that facilitates the current biology, which is growing and expanding every day. Currently in Colombia biology is a field of study that is implemented in various experiments as a solution to various problems that brings this new era, on the one hand we have a breakthrough and study in the control and analysis of various populations of plants and animals that are part of the conservation of our Colombian environments, on the other hand we also have several genetic and molecular studies in the field of medicine which provide solutions to many current diseases as well as these tools are used in the agricultural field in order to study pests, crops and a balance between man and the environment.

My role in the university revolves around the process of generating my own knowledge and the creation of awareness from the academic bases provided by the university as well as the use of this knowledge to change my lifestyle in the face of un-environmental practices that I was carrying out.

Finally I want to emphasize the importance of biology in my life as it is an area of study which brought me much happiness to know and see the world from another perspective as it is an outing to an ecological walk where before I just went out and said what a nice landscape or nice place and today a field trip is to open my mind and my eyes to a whole ecosystem that works thanks to a set of various conditions from the molecular, cellular, metabolic part, going through the taxonomic identification of most of the species present to the understanding of the whole function of an ecosystem from the smallest as it can be a bacterium to the conformation and function of a whole forest.
